Pro-Recycling and Anti-Litter Education
Encorp’s Recycling Hero programs encourage everyone to recycle empty beverage containers and ensure none are left behind as litter.
Recycling Hero focuses on making beverage container recycling more accessible in public spaces—such as schools, parks, and outdoor areas—while helping to reduce litter across PEI. By choosing to recycle rather than discard beverage containers, Islanders become Recycling Heroes and play an active role in protecting the environment and keeping their communities clean.
Recycling Hero messaging is featured in advertising campaigns and integrated across Encorp’s public outreach and education initiatives for schools and community groups. These programs are designed to discourage littering, increase awareness and use of public recycling bins, promote anti‑littering and pro‑recycling education among children and youth to support lifelong recycling habits, and foster positive, community‑driven environmental leadership throughout PEI.

Recycling Heroes in School
Raise Money for Your School by Collecting and Returning Deposit-Bearing Beverage Containers for Recycling!
Encorp’s school recycling program will supply your school and your students with all the tools and connections necessary to make recycling beverage containers easy and convenient. Once your school has signed up for the program, it will be given Recycling Hero beverage container collection bins and educational posters, and will be given instructions on connecting to a return location in your area to make beverage container returns quick and simple. Schools will also be given a variety of other incentives and performance rewards for participating in this program.
More information on the Recycling Heroes in School program in PEI is coming soon, and applications for the 2026-2027 school year will be available in September.
